about KERALA kcym

The Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) is an organization for the Catholic youth from three rites (Latin Church, Syro-Malabar Church and Syro-Malankara Church) of Christian community of Kerala in India.[1] The patron saint of Kerala Catholic Youth Movement is St. Thomas More.

KCYM is the official state and regional organization under the auspices of the KCBC Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council. It is affiliated to the National Youth Body the "Indian Catholic Youth Movement" (ICYM). It consists of youngsters between the age group of 15–35 years who subscribe to Catholic values and principles, but beneficiaries include the youth of other religions. The main aim of KCYM is "The Integral Development of The Catholic Youth and The Total Liberation of Human Society in accordance with the Christian values". It is to coordinate and empower the human potentials of youth based on the Gospel values, to make them effective agents of change in the socio-religious-political-economic and cultural reality of India, especially of Kerala through National integration. It also aims at making the youth committed to the serving mission of the Church to the least, last and the lost.

ABOUT KCYM VELLAPALLY

Yuva Jyothi KCYM Velappally Unit is a vibrant spiritual organization for young people of St. Francis Assisi Church Vellapally, under the auspices of the KCYM Diocese of Alleppey. The organization is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of its members through prayer, service, and fellowship.

KCYM Unit is undertaken by the Unit Council headed by the Assistant Parish Priest who is also bearing as the Unit Director as per instructions and appointment by the Parish Priest. There comes a group of elected members a.k.a Council to assist the unit director in the programmes, events and the running of the organisation.The parish and the community (SVC) also appoints a Sister Animator to assist and co-ordinate the organisation. Head of the general body council is the President(M) assisted by Vice President (F). The publishing and media will be handled by the Unit Secretary (M/S) along the Joint Secretary (M/S). The financial statements and the transaction inside will be handled by the Unit Financer (M/S). An unofficial group of 5 members named Executive Members are assigned along with the council to assist the main council and questions drawbacks of the main council.

KCBC 2024 YOUTH YEAR

The Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) has marked the beginning of a pivotal year with the launch of the official logo for the Youth Year 2024. This initiative aligns with the Church's mission of rejuvenation and focuses on engaging the youth in the spirit of faith and leadership.

SAINT CARLO ACUTUS

Carlo was a young man who was exceptionally transparent. He really wanted to progress in loving his parents, God, his classmates, and those who loved him less. He wanted to apply himself in his studies to educate himself in his catechism class as well as in school and computer science.He became popular among the masses for using technology to propagate religion. Carlo Acutis was born in London on May 3, 1991. Later, he grew up in Milan. While growing up, Acutis handled his parish website and later began managing a Vatican-based academy.
